I agree I have a Buddy that has a very well known name brand unit.
It is a commercial machine, he bought it approx 5 yrs ago used.
At the age of 7 the unit (low hours machine) had a major component go out.
After tracking down the original manufacturer, because the name on the machine was just that, a name on the machine, he ordered the part from Japan.
It was big bucks $$$$
He sold it after that and bought a different brand.

Compact tractor buyers today looking at these nicely painted sculptured tractors assume that parts are equal to the truck they drove in with.
Manufactures by law have to have parts for a specific # of years beyond that parts availability is basically a mathematical error based on the bean counters predicting long term parts requirements. Also most automobiles beyond 10 years are primarily supported by an aftermarket industry. The tractor aftermarket industry exists but is a speck compared to automotive.
If a day goes by that I don’t get a request for Ford compact tractor parts I would be shocked. Not 50 year old models either (those parts are available) it is the 10 to 20 year old models that are difficult. Most of the time we are crossing to a grey market model so we can order the part from Japan.
Like Maka, I also service any brand so I can say that not one of the Mfg are exempt from a 30+ day part. In fact one Mfg took over two years to ship the correct part for a 1 year old tractor.....
One company though I can say shines for parts and that is Komatsu. There has never been a time that if I ordered before 5pm that the part wasn’t on my door the next morning. No matter what part or the age of the equipment.
