1 or 2 tractors (or more), what do you have

I currently run a 1 tractor, 1 skidsteer setup. There are definite applications that the skidsteer is the only good solution (cleaning out small livestock pens, landscaping, etc.) but I'm finding that having a second tractor might give me more productivity overall. I'd love to have one tractor I can use to dedicate to the baler, do heavier work and keep the 5093e as a true utility with its loader. Plus it is just a nuisance to have to hook and unhook everything from a wagon, 3pt equip, rakes, etc.

The skid I have is not small (Gehl 5240e), but you cant put it on a baler or use it on a rake!

Do you guys "farm" with just one tractor, or do you have multiple units? I'm thinking a 4440 sized tractor as a second to put on the baler, etc. Not sure yet whether I let the Skid go to pay for it.

we have 3 tractors.but we are only using 2 tractors at this time.baling hay you really need 3 tractors to keep the baling equipment hooked up.

I have one a Power Trac 422. The attachments change out so easily that I don't need more.

We have Two and really need Three tractors. 400 acres here mostly hard woods. Logging, mowing and road work is all we do.

The farms around here that cut hay all have dedicated tractors, one for cutting and/or baling, one for raking and one with loader. It doesn't take much of a tractor for the rake, so this one is usually smaller and or older.

I have two or three, depending on what you want to count. The third one is a 1991 JD 420 20hp Onan HST w/trailer that hauls around all my chainsaws/tree pulling down gear/etc. The second one is a 1981 JD 2240 about 60hp PST tractor that either works the chipper or hauls the wood/junk brush in a homebuilt 3pt carryall. And my new 2011 Mahindra 5035 HST that digs the stumps/hauls stuff on the forks/etc. I could use a couple more tractors, but I only have a 40 by 80' barn, and there is only so much room for other stuff....
