1 or 2 tractors (or more), what do you have

At the moment, I'm running two tractors. The 1510 does all my grounds keeping, loader work, and raking, while the Major does all the heavy field work and baling. A third, sized between the two would make a nice addition. I'll put it on the wish list.

I really like Soundguy's approach. The three point hitch isn't too bad until I try to hook up something heavy like a big old tiller, then I am cursing. I wish the industry had gone with the Farmall Fast Hitch system. As for tractors, got two fairly new tractors for heavy work and two old ones for light work, but still need a bigger one.

11 total but 5 are always hooked up to something ready to go. Bare minimum to me would be 3, but to me tractors are like implements or tools. You need the right one for what you are doing.

I only have 8 acres and have two tractors - a little Kubota that stays hooked to a pull behind finish mower for the yard, and a new Mx5100 for the road, tree work, etc... I love having the little one just for grass duty since it is needed weekly!

We have a bunch that are not used right now...
I use my 1720 for mowing and light loader work...
The 8050 for bush hogging...
When were were farming 3 small cattle operations we did what Soundguy did and had 1 tractor for bailing, 1 for mowimg, 1 for raking, and two for hauling hay...
We don't have any more cows but still have the tractors...
Life is good...
