1 Set Rear Remotes - 3 Attachments to Run?

   / 1 Set Rear Remotes - 3 Attachments to Run? #11
JJ, I think his first post said his tractor model only supports 1 factory remote. If the power beyond loop is easily accessible he can certainly add a generic remote valve.

Eddie,
Do you use the hydraulic top link with the backhoe in place? (seems unusual) If not, a single diverter valve for the grapple totally solves your problem. Like I said I prefer to divert the dump/curl circuit for that. It frees up an operating hand and everything is contained on the loader frame.

If you do need the top link and backhoe both hooked up, an alternative to running the BH from a power beyond loop is to run it from a diverter on the rear remote.

If you want to split the rear remote using a diverter a manual diverter valve might work better since it detents in either position. The solenoid can do that if you use a toggle switch but it will draw power when activated.

Brad, I do not use the top link with backhoe attached. Would like to use grapple and backhoe or grapple and top link when backhoe is removed.
Will the valve you posted work for what I have in mind?

Thanks

Eddie

Great - all you need is what I posted in the first paragraph of my first post. (post #4 in this thread)

Look at pdf "installation guide" in the second link. Scroll down to "step 3 - hydraulic plumbing." The $110 valve I posted in the first link is just like the valve in those instructions. You probably want to attach it to the loader frame where I indicate in the attached picture. You take the quick-connects off the curl hoses and attach those hoses directly to the solenoid valve. Buy 2 short hoses to run from the solenoid valve to the quick-connects, and run the grapple hoses to the solenoid valve just like the diagram. When you want to remove the loader, you just remove the electrical connector from the top of the solenoid (it's included with the valve) and detach the hoses as usual. Unlike the kit in the pdf you have to buy your own momentary push-button switch and wire. Instead of a bracket I just tapped two 1/4-20 holes in the loader frame to mount the valve. The valve doesn't come with any instructions. If you go this route let me know and I can put together the simple wiring diagram.

Now your grapple is totally independent of the rear remote and you can operate the grapple with your joystick hand. The small disadvantage of this setup is that you can't operate the curl and grapple cylinders simultaneously. That has not been an issue for me. You do get full rate control of the grapple through the curl valve.

gilbertmsg,

You never did say if you have a PB port on your FEL valve, or if you have a PB port on your BH.

You need PB to add another valve in series like a remote valve for the BH, log splitter or whatever..

Ok, I'm very confused, what does power beyond mean? I have a set of rear remotes on rear of tractor. I mount hoe, connect 2 lines from hoe into remote, set selector valve on platform to A. I can then use backhoe and bucket.

Brad, if you read this post please repost the instructions you had in post #4. I can't open for some reason and cannot find on website.

Thanks!!

Eddie

gilbertmsg,

You never did say if you have a PB port on your FEL valve, or if you have a PB port on your BH.

You need PB to add another valve in series like a remote valve for the BH, log splitter or whatever..

PB is already built into the FEL valve, that is what feeds to the rear remote, then 3 pt. When the rear remote is activated return oil from this valve goes directly to tank. 3pt does not function when using rear remote.

If the remote valve had PB, the 3pt could function, as the fluid from the remote PB would go to the 3pt line and then to tank.

He may not use it with BH, but would use the 3pt when lifting a log splitter or any other hyd attachment.

Here is that link again with instructions for the solenoid diverter valve:
http://www.hydraulicstore.com/images/pdf/Trausch_Dynamics_Selectplus.pdf
It works for me from multiple computers. You may have a ribbon pop up asking permission to open the pdf file. It's just a little too big for me to attach directly to this post. If you still can't open it you can pm me with your email and I'll shoot a copy to you.

You don't need to worry about power beyond - that is for installing a full function remote valve or running your backhoe as a full remote valve. All you need is the diverter to control your grapple and you can run the BH or toplink from your existing rear remote valve.

Brad, thanks for sending the link again. It opened this time, no issues.

Other than having to buy hoses and fittings for the Double Selector Valve, looks like it would work for my purposes. With it being manuel level operation, it's much cheaper than the multiplier and looks to do the same thing. Is that right or wrong?

Thanks to all who replied to my post, I would not have had a clue with going into the dealer and spending way too much.

I bought one of these SelectPLUS for my loader grapple. I love it!

SelectPLUS 12 GPM

Personally, I don't see why a person would try to make a wiring harness, fabricate a mount, and run all over town to get the parts. You'll spend hours doing this. I had it installed and running in less than an hour. The package is $359.99 and comes with everything that you need in one box. All of the wires are already there and they're weatherproof. The switch is weatherproof. I saw one of these at the local farm store selling for $450, so it's not a bad deal.

I had one question about the hydraulic adapters that came with it, so I called their toll-free number. Got a person right away who knew what they were talking about. To me, it's worth it.
