The "C" is for compression engines. Among the things it the "C" oil helps with is sulfuric acid,carbon,higher film retention and cokeing ie carbon on turbo cross shaft.
"CF " is an improvement for Mobil 1 that should get you up to 1970! Yes really! The original Mobile 1 was not passable for diesels made after 1956!
Not trying to be smart-a** but any oil with a "C" H,I or,J rating is 1000 times better than Mobile 1 for half the price and will its additive package will last twice as long.
