10-30 or 15-40 oil

The "C" is for compression engines. Among the things it the "C" oil helps with is sulfuric acid,carbon,higher film retention and cokeing ie carbon on turbo cross shaft.

"CF " is an improvement for Mobil 1 that should get you up to 1970! Yes really! The original Mobile 1 was not passable for diesels made after 1956!

Not trying to be smart-a** but any oil with a "C" H,I or,J rating is 1000 times better than Mobile 1 for half the price and will its additive package will last twice as long.

My Kubota dealer gave me 15W-40 and a filter for my first oil change. He said they use 15W-40 for all of their tractors and it has worked well for all temps. He said they start the tractors right up in the coldest weather.

My dealer put 15-40 in mine for delivery. He tells me to use that and that he recommends dino oil over synthetic for cost purposes. Says longevity is the same. Now don't get mad at me over this, it was the dealer who said it, not me.

My dealer also put 15W40 mineral oil in my BX2200 and had no problems starting or running in cold weather. I do keep it garaged. When it came time for the 50 hour service he put in 15W40 also. I bought a case of the Mobil Devlac 1300 Super for when I change it myself.

I will be sticking with the Devlac mineral oil for my BX. Costco sells a case of 4 1-gallons cans of it for $21.

Mineral oil? Is that for the engine? I have never heard of that.

Regular oil is mineral oil, as opposed to synthetic. You have mineral oil, animal fat based oil which is machine shop cutting oil, you used to have whale oil, vegetable oil, Dextron ATF is vegetable based, synthetics and I'm sure there is some I'm forgetting. I was going to add hash oil but that is vegetable based. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif
