I recently bought gas from the filling station at Fortt Hood. Didn't think anything of it at the time, but that gas has played havoc with my chain saws and gas weed eater. The gas caps on the chain saws have swollen to the point where they must be removed with pliers and the brand new Echo weedeater carbuerator is fouled to the point that it will not reach maximum rpm. In case anyone is skeptical, I have had the saws for several years and have had no problem until I used that gas. The weedeater problem was confirmed by the repair shop doing the warranty repairs.
It appears to be another example of our Federal government helping us out.

I still have the choice for now at every pump in town (both of them) of regular or ethanol. I hope that doesn't change.

E10 has been in use here in NJ for at least five years now. Ethanol has replaced MTBE as the oxygenate.

I've had no problems with my lawm mower, chain saw, snow blower, roto tiller, weed wacker or my automobile after the switch. In fact, I haven't even noticed a drop in fuel economy.

I've read that there're issues with ethanol and power boats and that that has to do with ethanol and the propensity for water in power boat fuel tanks.

I don't think the government has anything to do with your small engine problems.

I agree with you, Keegs, and I am not saying it is, but the Gov't is mandating the use of ethanol.

I've used ethanol for years and years in everything and have never had a problem. Cars, tractors, other 4 cycle engines. I also use it in my 2 stroke chainsaw, weed eater, leaf blower, and snow blower.

I also have used for more years then care to mention and never had a fuel related problem from it. We have choice and choose ethanol every time I fill.

I'm not sure how long we've had the ethanol in our gas, and I wouldn't know where to get any as without ethanol, but I, too, have had no problems at all so far (knock on wood).:)

You need to read more forums Moss, if you did you would know that that is impossible.

Maybe the station received a load of gas that was not mixed correctly? Too many people have had problems with gas, but since we don't really know what comes out of the nozzle, it's hard to pinpoint the actual issue.
Dave.
