10 year old 1535 Garden Tractor compares to what current model?

I am going from 1/2 acre to 2 acres to mow, and I have an opportunity to purchase a 10 year old 1535 Garden Tractor that appears to run real well. It has a 46 inch deck and a 15 hp engine. Looking at the new models in the showrooms, it appears that the 2500 series is sturdier than the 1500 series. Is the mower I am looking at closer to the current 2500 series than the current 1500 series? The "1535", yet Garden Tractor labeling is what I am questioning. The Current GT 1554 is not the same as the current GT2544.

Yep, that 10yr/old 1535 would compare to today's 2500 series (2500's are considered 'Garden Tractors'), but is even a bit more old school heavy-duty. If it's clean and the price is right, grab it.
