A set of forks is so handy.
The guy at the store claims this spool weights 80lbs.
Probably a little less than that. Set it up in the forks and the spool spins with very little effort.

Well worth the money for a multitude of reasons.

Phred, my guess is that the cinder blocks weigh more than the spool, but they sure make good spacers. That's really using your head. You could string fence-wire/barbed wire the same way...maybe even get two or three spools going at the same time if your forks are adjustable./w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Good idea on the fence wire, I had not though of that.

Maybe you could load up a few spools, attach the ends to a post and drive backward to string the wire.

On a related subject I saw an attachment on Ebay that you put on a post hole digger instead of an auger and then you can use the phd to spool wire back up.
