I bought one of these last year at a consignment sale and used it for the first time yesterday.
(Not my lift, mine is the same exact thing, but painted yellow and has a new holland/ford dealer sticker on it).
Originally I bought it to be something of a poor-man's forklift for moving pallets w/machinery. But Never got around to using it. I used it to move hay yesterday and load a trailer. Overall, it worked. I was a little less than impressed though for lifting bales....
The forks seem to just hang in place and do not lock. I'm wondering a bit about that, it seems like the bale could push the forks apart a little?
Does anyone here have such a device and maybe have some tips/tricks? I don't have the small center bale spear, I'm wondering if it would make any improvement in the use/handing?
For sure it's probably more handy for lifting pallets/etc I'd gamble?
