I have a 2017 1025R with backhoe. This part fell off. Does anyone know what it is or where it goes? Thanks?

Check your air cleaner. If that is from the air cleaner check the top of your valve cover very carefully. On later years they moved the way the way it was mounted. It was mounted to the valve cover, the valve cover would crack and the engine could eat parts and be ruined.

At one time JD had what amounts to a silent recall and would replace the air cleaner with the new setup, you might have to pay for it now. I would say it’s very critical to switch to the new system.

Go over to the Green Tractor talk forum and read this post, VERY important information about this problem:

Revised Air Cleaner Replacement Program for 1025r

It explains the current program (which ends 5/30/25) concerning the 1025R air cleaner failures. The air cleaner problem was/is a best kept secret by John Deere, in fact from what I have read many of their own dealers had no idea or refused to participate if there was no broken parts. John Deere REALLY screwed their customer base on this one. Many have had to pay for new engines ($10,000+), some getting reimbursed by Deere others not.

I accidentally found out about the problem after their "PIP" program ended but it would not have helped me since I did not have a failure at the time. So I bought the parts and replaced the cleaner myself as did many others after finding out about it.
