(1066) What size are the plugs for draining?

1066. Has a female pipe plug (if I have the correct name) to drain the hydraulic fluid. (I've actually not even looked at engine oil yet!)

I used my 1/2" ratchet with nothing attached to pull two of them off. As I understand, there are five of them. (I've not yet dealt with the axle drains) the one that has me scratching my head is the PTO drain.

The 1/2" ratchet is too big.... the 3/8 doesn't fit either. The 1/4" is way too small.

Why did they put these female fittings in there? (doesn't matter, I'm just wondering out loud)

Anyone know what size of male pipe plug tool I need for this? I don't want to spend $50 (or more) for a set of them when I only need a single socket.

Make a plug removal tool. You have and old 1/2" drive extension or a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter. If so grind the 1/2" end down till it fits in the plug.

I don't have any beaters that I'd want to grind down so, I found & bought set of the correct tools!

Besides... in my opinion, it would take a LOT more time than it's worth to grind something down.... laying on my back under the machine...

Got all the plugs out today & hydro fluid is now changed!

AND, I have a set of new tools for the box!!
