I was away for a couple weeks, and notice that the "Kubota Owning" forum has surpassed 9,000 postings. Each day adds somewhere between 75 and 100 more posts, so it looks like the KO forum will be the first one to go over 10,000. It also looks like it will go there with nearly zero competition.

Those Orange tractor people sure are a chatty bunch!!! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I've been watching the JD/NH owning forums... JD is catching up. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

That brings up an interesting thought that I had and I'm sure that some of you know the answer. Why is it that the NH and kubota boards generate so many more responses than the JD board does?

JD has recently been ahead of the NH forums by a bit... the reason for the Kubota forums to be so far ahead, aside from the fact that Kubotas are more popular than JD and NH, is that this site was originally only Kubota discussions, and the JD/NH forums, and other topics were added in Fall/1999.

Could it be that NH & JD owners are much busier working? Nah-h-h couldn't be that the Kubota's are that much more efficient! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Muhammad,

Can you check your log for Fall '99, subtract Kubota totals then and give us a more equal today's score against JD & NH?

John,

When the site was Kubota only, we got about 28-30 messages/day. Now, just the Kubota topics get about 38 messages/day average (over the past year). But that doesn't include the share of attachment and other discussions that were also on the old forums, but now have their own forums here.

- NH discussions: 7.6 messages/day
- JD discussions: 6.5 messages/day

(1 year averages)

- New Kubota minus old Kubota: 8-10 messages/day

I'm going to stick my neck out here and predict that the Kubota Owning forum will go over 10K on June 11. I also promise not to load it. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Looks like we won't make it by the 11th. I'm pretty sure we will by the 15th though. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I'm going to take a guess here, just playing the stats, sort of. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

You're going to be darn close on the 50K guestimate. It's looking like "maybe" late tomorrow or early Thursday. Must make you feel like a proud papa. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Glue Guy,

I "predict" the forum will hit 50K around noon tomorrow (13th). As of now, (Tues the 12th, nite) it is about 115 posts shy. The board is getting more traffic all the time. It is up around 250 or more new posts per day, and a lot of people log on in the morning. The peak seems to be around noon. I wonder what the actual number of page views per day/month is.

One thing that impresses me is that even with continued strong growth in the number of members and posts, the crowd of tractor devotees remains basically restrained, the sense of community is still here, and a ton of good info gets doled out 24X7. So Caps Off (again) to Muhammad for running a first class board. I am genuinely impressed with the new server. I have not seen ANY slowdown in access speed (real darn quick on 56K) even with 70 or more members logged on at the same time. Pretty cool indeed.

Gosh Muhammad. I've just returned and have been in this hurry up catch up mode skimming thru all that I have missed. The new server must be nice. Now if i could get the locals to do the same on this end. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
With the big 50,000 post's and registered users up, I would have been game for a pool and the winner gets a day in upper NY with the Master type contest. My birthday is still the 22nd. It's gonna happen before that. Looks like a winner no matter what. I'd be a little pround of the stick-to-it-ness of yours. Hats off to ya and thanks for having us.

Well to make my prediction correct, I could shut the forum down as soon as it gets to 49,999 today, and then open it at 12:00AM tomorrow. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Uh...... just kidding!!

That's great!!!! I just popped in this morning to see where you're at, and it looks like it will happen in the next couple of hours. Only have about 40 to go (for 50K total). The Kubota Owners is still a few days away, but it sure looks like (to me) it's going to be a lot sooner than the 20th.

There you are. 50,030 as I type this. Getting pretty close to 10K on KO too. I'm pretty sure KO will beat your prediction of the 20th. Probably the 15th or 16th.

YeeHaw! Went away for a long weekend, and checked in on TBN here for the first time in 5 days. See the KO forum is at 10,001! Oh, and I see it's the 19th. Pretty accurate guestimate you made, but it appears that there is a ramp in effect...

Congrats Muhamad!
