I posted a qujestion in the JD section, before I saw this tire section. I have a JD 5400 w/ front assist. The front tires are 11.2 - 24. I bought a set of 11.2-24 mounted on rims today at an auction. The rims are white or creame, definitely not JD green. I was wondering if anyone knows if the lug pattern the other manufacturers use is the same as JD? I have a lot of thorns where I use the tractor and get several flats a year, am hoping I can use the new rims and old tires I have as spares, for days when I get a flat. The tractor is at a farm 5 hours from where I live, so I can't compare right now. Just looking at them they are definitely very similar, if not the same.

Why don't you just put the tires on your rims??

I'm going to. But I'd like to put the old tires on these rims for 2 spares, if they'll work. Lots of thorns and flats!

Unless these rims came from a custom rim maker specifically targeting a JD rim, I doubt it. If they were JD, I would think they would be painted yellow from a custom shop. If you can find a good picture of your tractor on the net, perhaps you can see if there would be any possibility of alignment at all especially as it applies to bolt spacing and number. Your 5400 has what looks to be at least a 6-8" hub orifice on the original rims.

Op, if you are working in thorns I would suggest atleast sliming your tires or foam filling them.
