The temp guage was replaced, But I'm not sure it was not functioning. The only time it ever registers is when I use the backhoe for long periods. Even then it only just moves up, and goes back down soon after using the hoe. Never even registers when doing loader work, but it hasn't been hot yet.

Whoodle,
Just thought I'd chime in with this...my 110 is currently at my dealer having some warantee work done, nothing major, a few small items before the warrantee expires. The one thing they did tell me though was that Deere wanted to replace my hydraulic temp gauge because some were not functioning properly. Mine usually read right about in the middle, but if I really pushed it, it would get into the yellow, it made me a little nervous. My dealer said that it was an inacurate reading and that they shot it with a temp gauge and it was runnin' cool as can be,they said the gauge should rarely move much. Hope all is well with you and your 110.

Thanks for the info guys. I haven't worked it hard yet, so maybe it's working fine. Other than that potential issue, I love it. It's quite a step up from a 790 with loader and backhoe!

Hey Tags, tell about the Harley carbide rake you have. Could I run it over existing but bumpy grass say in the Fall to help level things out? I know my Pro 8 won't do much for that. Let me know if thats a possiblity. Glad the JD 110's still going strong. Rat...

Rat,
Hows the new machine runnin'? I have to say the new Botas' are quite impressive. Anyway the carbide tipped roller is ten times better than the bar roller,it gives more of a tilling action, and works great for lawn renovations like you want to do. It really tears the old sod up pretty good, especially if you go over it a couple of times. It is a bit pricey to convert, but is well worth the doe. Ive had mine set up with the carbide teeth for about a year now and they haven't even shown a bit of wear, keep in mind that I also grade hard packed driveways with it. Hope all is well on the Left side , the weather has been horrible here, hope it has been better for you out there, you wouldn't want to get that new machine all dirty!!

Thanks Tags, thats what I wanted to hear, the carbide roller, not the weather. To convert do you remove the upper roller and put on the plastic rawhide skirt? Hope "The Spiders" hanging in there for you, I'm incredibly impressed with my little tractor, Rat.

You don't remove the top roller, just leave it right where it is, unless the bearings need attention. You just need to remove the lower roller assembly, and put the new one in.I also replaced the bearings on it while I had it out,I was there so I did it.It took about a solid half day to disassemble and re-assemble. So get your mechanic suit out and get ready to smell like gear oil if you do it...happy wrenching!!

Tags, I checked into the bar. $1600 or so and $125 in shipping. Beats getting a new rake. They do have to make it up special for the Pro 8. How does the rake work out with the upper roller, any issues versus the new style with just a deflector, at least as well as you could guess. I'm going to really look into this. Thanks for the information. Rat

Any 110 owners Have any Hydraulic issues. Mine is having problems at 450 hrs. I changed fliud, filters and when cleaning the suction screen I found metal splinters about 1/8'' all around the filter. I also have a valve stuck in an open position creating constant flow to the cylinders. Its at the dealer now, Im waiting for a call tomorrow with a verdict on the problem.

Jon,
I have the same amount of hours on my 110 as you and have had no such problems. I hope everything works out with it, and that Deere stands behind your problem. No way a machine with that few hours should have any sutch problem, please let us know how you make out with it.
