Another question. Working with a rented 110 today I seem to be using the throttle handle a lot. Do the rest of you do that? Always seem to be idling down and then throttling it up. Anyone moved the throttle to a more convenient position? Or just leave it reved?

It's been my experience that I leave the throttle set at a certain rpm point and leave it there.

But.... any particular rpm level (or throttle setting) varies depending upon the type of work I'm doing.

Hoe work rpm is different than FEL rpm work. And pto work rpm is different than either one of those...

The way I use the 110 is not a whole lot different than the way I used to run my JD 970 except I could set the throttle position on the 970 several hundred rpm's lower (2-300) and use the footpedal to jump the throttle up when working the tractor harder.

I have lots of hills. Going downhill is about 1500-1800 rpm. Going up is 2400 or so.

For me the hoe is jerky and too fast above 1400 RPM, 1350 is about the best.
