1100 RTV... keeping windows clear

   / 1100 RTV... keeping windows clear #11
I bought an RTV 1100 a few months ago. My son owns a 55 acre property and has two young kids. I bought the machine so they could use it while my wife and I look for our own property near them and will eventually use it on my own place after the move. The RTV 1100 is really a different machine from any other. While most think atv/golf type this is more like a tractor with four wheels. I have no issues with the windows, I just run A/C and heat and have no problems. The ability to travel the property with no bugs, heat and AC can't be matched. The idea that someone would say 20K golf cart sounds like a guy whom owns a side by side atv or a golf cart, but an RTV is agricultural transportation tractor.

To the guy who thinks Kubota is letting him down and the $400 hyd adjustment he wont pay for: The fogging issue is one ALL machines with small cabs and work/play outside have. My Kubota excvator has the same issue, once warmed up and aired out, both are fine. More about physics and less about Kubota's quality and or service. Both of which I think are top notch. Excellent. That is why I am pro-Kubota!

I never thought I could afford the 1100 until I bought one for $10.5K almost new!!! I have 3 young kids and I was going to buy a 900 until this deal came through. Now I don't have to worry about my kids falling out, getting wiped in the eye by a branch, and the like. I get to enjoy my farm in all seasons in comfort, use it for 2 of my businesses I run, and so many more things it is unbelieveably wonderful!!! Golf cart.....HA!!! For your applixcation timswi, it seems priceless. Good for you and I bet your daughter enjoys your rig just as much as my kids do and probably alot more. I cannot afford it like the price tag implies, but I feel blessed to have one and is probably the #1 quality of life improvement I have made for myself and my family.

Seems like your uses and intents are the similar to mine...Glad you like yours too...I bought mine new, it was a leftover '09...If memory serves I think to out the door price was around 19k with the $2500 power-angle blade, worklights F/R and bedliner...Base machine was something like $16k...Expensive--yes. Worth it--yes, to me.

I priced a cabbed 900 and found the price almost the same as the 1100 once the heater etc was added.

I'm happy with my RTV 1140 and have had no issues, minor or major at 200 plus hours. But, then, I don't have to deal with sub zero degrees, snow banks outside and a panting snowy furred dog inside, either. Do you have the fogging issue when the dog is not with you??

Did you purchase new and are not getting your issues addressed under warranty.... or was it used/out of warranty when you bought it??

I'm wondering what symptoms you are getting with the hydro transmission such that an adjustment is needed....what will the adjustment do??

My cabbed tractor's doors are hard to shut because the cab is pretty tight. Do you feel a difference in shutting force when the opposing door is open and the cab is not air tight??

Are you, in fact, in the middle of Alaska...can't tell from your info/profile.

Just trying to understand more detail about the problems you are having to see if any suggestion comes to mind.

My experience with service has not been has not placed me in the mood to ever buy another one. Quoted 400 to adjust the hydro transmission. ( by two different dealers ) Doors are hard to shut and are very reluctant to offer any solutions for any minor problems.. They just want it dropped off with a Gold Card attached. Like being in the middle of Alaska... your on your own.

I have threatened to take up golf just for the purpose of being able to four wheel through the sand traps at the golf course with the 1100 (while being air conditioned in the summer or heated in the winter) those plastic soft cabs on the golf carts are a joke around here.

"Four wheeling thru the sand traps!" Gotta be a CW song in there somewhere! Maybe that's where true love is found:thumbsup:

Maybe you could get you're buddy to ride in the back . I bet he would love it . Iused to have a little cocker that would follow me around while mowing . If I did not stop to pick her up , she would stand right in front of the mower . I finally made a little seat for her , and she was thrilled . Dogs love to go for a ride . But ain't it great .
