Where you will get in a bind is when you turn down hill. IT MIGHT push the tractor and slide, as long as you don't have any objects down hill from you, you will be able to steer to keep the bush hog off the tractor but you will be along for the ride..
This happened to me once when I didn't have the 4WD on when I turned down hill. And I have duels on the back.the key is not panicking let the tractor go and just steer, don't touch brakes much, never use clutch,, EVER!! Let the engine handle it,, but throttle it back some before turning down hill!! I slid a good 40 feet and was able to get the tractor turned back across the slope,, haha!
But I just need to advise,, I was on some very extreme slope when I went into my slide turning around with only a concrete V ditch as an obstacle, that I was able to stay out of.
You can always just go forward and backwards across the slope to be safer,,
