Anybody use an engine heater on a 790? If so, what type?

I got a new "screw-in" block heater with my '04 790 last Spring. Looked about putting it in yesterday & can't find a freeze plug to install it. The heater is a Zerostart from Thermo #3100003, 790 is not listed in the paperwork, so I don't know if it's the right one or not.

With the tractor "pre-heater", is a 120V needed? Probably won't be out if it's below zero (F)! ~~ grnspot110

I have asked a moderator to move this to the JD tractor forum;)

That pic above looks like the install I made on my old 790. IIRC....it was a bit of a bugger to get at....with the biggest problem being to tighten the new one (hard to get a wrench on it). Maybe I didn't have the right tool??

I never needed to use mine. My tractor started any time I needed it in the winter....just by using the pre-heat.
