When I bought my 1215 in 1999 I asked the dealer if I could "dish out" the front wheels to make the front end wider and more stable. He said "NO - that dishing out the front wheels would cause excessive wear on the front wheel bearings." This wasn't a problem when I lived on the flats but since my move to the hills I've often wanted a wider front end for stability. Does anyone have any experience to the contrary about the front wheel bearings wearing out w/ dished out wheels? The tractor is used mostly for loader and landscape work. The loader capacity is around 450#. Thanks in advance for your help.

The dealer is correct. It probably wouldn't be an issue but with the added weight of the front end loader the potentila problems are compounded.

Thanks for the confirmation Brent. I will leave them as is for now with more snow on the way and more driveways to clear. I was planning on removing the loader this summer for mowing with a bush hog. Would this lighten the front end enough to dish out the front wheels or should I just give up the idea entirely?
