My 1215痴 starter will not work.
Checked the small wire going to the solenoid at the starter motor and I am getting 11.4 volts when I turn the key to start position but nothing happens. When I jump a wire from the main big hot wire on the starter to the solenoid terminal the starter works, The main wire has 12.4 volts which is the same amount the battery is putting out. Traced the small solenoid wire back to a relay mounted on the fire wall that has four posts (Coil, Coil, COM, & ON). I get 11.4 volts going in when key is turned to start position and 11.4 volts coming out (going to starter solenoid). My shop manual does not say how much Juice should be going to the starter solenoid. Is the 11.4 volts the issue? And I am assuming I am losing voltage at the ignition switch. I cleaned up all the connections and ground but still seem to get 11.4 volts to the starter solenoid & relay.
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
