I currently have a 1020 Hydro and am considering a trade for a 4WD 1250 Gear drive. This 1250 does not have a mid pto. I am not sure what year this tractor is but were mid pto's available on the 1250? I have not talked to dealer yet. Wanted to know before I deal if one could be installed. Any info?

Yes, they were available with a mid-PTO. I have a new mid-PTO gear box for a MF 1250 that has never been installed.

Just curious what could you run differently with the mid pto?

Thanks Jerry. Before I make a firm deal I would be interested in your PTO. Is it a complete unit or kit. I mean, all the hard parts I would need, besides gaskets, oil, e.t.c. ??
I have always liked using the belly mower rather than 3pt mowers. Mowing is my main task. I'm really happy with my 1020 except after I built my cab, there just isn't quite enough horsepower for the A/C unit and with the evaporator units in front of the radiator it tends to cause overheating. Have to run the A/C for awhile then shut it off so tractor can cool back down. I don't like having to keep that close watch on temp. I could put the evap up top to solve that issue but I also don't like to over work engine with compressor. More tractor,more HP,and 4WD is my next move. I haven't delt for this one yet but I'm told the price is right and I think this dealer will treat me right on mine for trade.

It is the gear box only. You would have to either purchase the linkage from your dealer or fabricate it.
It will probably be spring before I get serious. My brother found this tractor and expressed some intrest in it so I thought I would wait to see what he does first. That's how I found out the price. Just checking my options before going to dealer myself.
