1260 massey

I have a1260 that will not start. Was running fine shut it off and nothing when you turn the switch. You can pull start it but it will not shut off with the key after starting it.I replaced the neutral safety still nothing. I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

I have no knowledge of your particular model but it sounds like there is an electric shut off on the pump.

On my Kubota RTV it closes for a few seconds, long enough to kill the engine, and then snaps back to the "run" position. If it had a bad connection or the shut off was trashed it would stay in the "run" position all the time.

That would be the place to look next.

Take the ignition switch out.
Snap it apart.
Clean the contacts.
Apply some dielectric grease or Never-Seez.
Put to to getter and install.
