12V-120V INVERTERS???? Do they drain your battery themselves?

/ 12V-120V INVERTERS???? Do they drain your battery themselves? #11
Harbor Freight has an 80 Watt inverter for $16 that would be fine for you cell phone.

I have a 400 Watt, a 500 Watt, and a 1500 Watt inverter. I can leave the 400 or the 500 plugged in for extended periods of time and they will power many things. I have used the 500 to run a squirrel cage fan while plugged into a Dodge van. I would run it from 8AM - 11:30 am then crank the van and take it to lunch - had about a 5 minute drive to and from where we ate.. I would again run the fan/inverter from 12:30 to 5:30 and crank the van and drive home. It never killed the battery.

I have used my 1500 Watt inverter to run an electric impact and a carpet seaming iron (not at the same time), but I needed the van running for extended use of this inverter.

I would suggest you buy more then one size inverter for your needs and use the appropriate one for the job at hand. They really do not cost that much for the work they do.
