OK I have read alot about turf tires from different people, but not one on the 1300d. I am assuming I can use 16" Chevy rims like everyone has mentioned, but does this apply for sure to my 1300D. I also saw that the 5x12 boat trailer tires for the front. I guess what I am looking for is someone to come out and confirm this information for my 1300D. Thanks!

The guy down the street from me has a 1300 and has turfs on it.. looks like real tractor rims.. not tradeouts... but then.. not 4wd either.

If you do start changing rims / tires, make sure you keep the same rolling circumference ratio between the fronts and the rears, otherwise you will damage your front end ( driveline windup ) and also scuff or chew up the grass you are trying to protect with the turfs.

Rogerscotty Myself and a few others had quite a large discussion quite a while ago on the physics measuring loaded rolling circumference. Aside from the deep math we got into and countless variables, it was decided that for practical purposes, a close match was ok, and that front leading the rear a small percentage was desireable.
Also, according to someone, can't remember who.. said they contacted firestone with their ag tire dimensions, and the people at firestone told them what size turfs they would need to preserve the ratio. If rogers chimes in he may/ will be able to add to what I have already covered.

Here is what I have on my 1300D.

Rear - LT265/75R16 All Terrain
Front - 155/80R12

Both will mount on the stock rims.

Mark- I am considering doing exactly what you have done to my 1401D (same tire sizes). Has your traction suffered noticeably in the dirt?

It depends. On hard compacted soil I actually think I have better traction. More tire contact with the ground. On soft loose soil it's time to kick in FWD. I haven't found an instance yet where the turfs have kept me from getting the job done. It pulls the tiller and 4ft blade with no more problems than it had with the rice tires. The only traction problems is on wet grass or mud. Wet grass will require you to step on the diff lock or kick in FWD. Mud will quickly fill up the tread leave you spinning. I have been very happy with the switch. The ride is much smoother and you don't tear up the grass.

Mark- that's kind of what I figured. Most of the work I do is in loose but dry soil, and I'm not sure how much traction advantage rice tires have there. I do know that when they spin, they DIG like mad! Since I have a FEL I run most of the time in 4WD anyway. What I will probably do is get another set of rims so I can switch back and forth easily. As far as the Chevy 6 lug rims go, I did some quick measuring (I have a utility trailer with that bolt pattern) and it doesn't look like they interchange. Any dealers out there know a ballpark figure for cost of rims? Also, when I mount up turfs or truck tires I am going to fill them with windshield washer fluid for extra weight.

I think you guys are on the right track with the 16" pickup tires on original rims and some 155/12's or similar on the front. The YM155D is the US version of the YM1300D, the factory turfs are 6-12 fronts and 8-16 rears, Bridgestone Farm Service Dia (HT Nylon). Your original front rims would not be wide enough, backs might be ok.

I inquired at my local Ag tire dealer regarding rims. It turns out they are not very expensive. He said that in the size range I was interested (15" or 16") either a narrow ag (R-1) wheel or a turf wheel would be about $40.

By the way, my YM1301D has the same size tires as the 1300D. I just got a pair of used Michelin 265/75-16's from the same dealer for $10. Plenty of tread for running in the yard.
