I made a collection container. It always seems to be empty. I was hoping it would suck the coolant back into the system. But it doesn't. The radiator cap is new and it's the correct 13lbs for the 1310.

The thing that leads me away from thinking it is a block, head or head gasket issue is the fact that the darn radiator is still pressurized after a few days setting. I would think if it was leaking internally that the pressure in the cooling system would equalize with the cylinder. It might make sense that maybe I caught the cylinder on a compression stroke. But it's pressureised every time I check it. What are the chances that the engine stops in teh middle of a compression stroke every time?

I like the idea that it might be the pump weep hole. I could also live with a radiator rebuild. I can do the head but would rather not if I don稚 have to.

It sounds like a bad head gasket or a cracked head/block. If it were pressurized just from the water getting hot, it would go back to no pressure once it got cold. Somehow gas (air or exhaust fumes) is getting into the cooling system. Likewise, if it were a water pump seal, there is no reason for there to be pressure once it cools.
