First of all, thanks for the replies. I installed an in-line fuel shut-off ,drained the crankcase, changed the filter, refilled with oil, cranked the engine circulate the new oil. Afterward I checked the oil and it still had the faint odor of gasoline, so I drained and refilled again. cranked to circulate and then fired it up. It had some white smoke for a few seconds but then ran better than it has for a while. In fact, now that I reflect on the last 6 months, it has not been running well since the fuel solenoid started giving me problems. I have had to choke the engine to get it to run smoothly, but now that is not necessary. I would strongly advise that if you don't have an in-line shut-off that you install one. I think I was lucky in that a full tank drained into my crankcase and therefore the engine would not run, but if it had been less fuel I could have operated my engine with diluted oil and could have done major damage. I talked to a second dealer and he said he agrees with the first dealer about the alcohol blended fuels creating problems for small engines. I will post further information on the thread created about that issue.

The gasoline will burn off and the oil should return to its normal viscosity. When I worked at the airport, we had some old radial engine freight planes. They had oil dilution systems on them. If they knew it was going to be cold the next time they wanted to start the engine, they had a system that would put gasoline into the engine oil while the engine was running. This would thin out the oil before they shut it down. When they started up, as the oil warmed up, the gas burned off and the oil returned to normal viscosity.

Back on this topic, I went out to mow my yard yesterday and the engine would not crank over. I'm thinking what now, I tried several times to crank it over (the battery had plenty of juice to fire it up) and finally it did and gas shot out the exhaust pipe. Oh crap, but I cranked it again and it fired up. This is the first time this ever happened to me so from now on I will use the fuel shut off I installed when the main pump went bad. I should have known something was wrong, I could smell a faint odor of gas but didn't think nothing of it. So now I will use the shut off valve. I had no gas in the oil which is a good thing but do you all think something else is going on with the fuel pump or some seal? Thanks
