I have a 1428v hydro and have about 28 hours on it. The gear select lever has shifted positions and wonder if this is something I can handle or if it's something to get the dealer to fix. As you all know, the lever positions are "(hi) (neutral) (low) (medium)" but now on my tractor, the tractor is in neutral when in the (hi) position and the other selections are shifted forward too.

Anyone know if that's adjustable in the lever linkages or is this symptomatic of some bigger problem?

GaryS, I would call the dealer and ask him first, I supposed you have already looked at it to see if a set screw is loose on the shaft or something similar to that...HMMM /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I believe there was a dealer service bulletin just released on this subject. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Wow -- thanks for the info! I love this site. I just called the dealer and he's checking on the bulletin.

The dealer finally got all the parts and came out yesterday to fix the problem. It's working perfectly now. It feels much better - more solid - when I switch gears. I'm really glad they made the change.

The dealer said I knew about the service bulletin before they did!

Again, thanks for the info.
