Next week I'll have close to 40 acres.

8 acres to be mowed around the house, 20 acres currently being used for pasture, have an access road across the land, and some acreage heavily wooded.

Looking at mowing, stump pulling, digging holes for fence in the futre, bush hogging, and some "land work" in the next couple of years.

Got a price on a 3015hst. On that note, what would you consider to be a good price on this machine? (with FEL)

Also, the salesman is pushing the 15 series, not the 10.

His reasoning is for what I intend to do (mostly mowing at first), the extra price and weight on the 10 isn't worth it for my needs.

I'm getting 30 hp (15 series) for a little less than the 28hp (10 series).

Any con's with the 15 over the 10?

The salesmen dosen't seem pushy and also seems easy to work with. I would just like some feedback from some people who don't have inventory/goals "issues" (if this business has any).

Thanks in advance.

They are both nice tractors, you will be happy with either one.

If you ever decided you want a backhoe take another look at the 10 series. Look at the sub frame setup on the 10. I had a Kioti DK-40 with a backhoe and the sub frame was a lot like the 15 series. I got that thing hung up in the woods all the time. My 2810HST goes every where and never gets hung up. You don't loose any ground clearance with the 10 series machines when the backhoe is on. If don't plan on a BH, or not use one very often, than the 15 series is a great tractor.
And a lot of people have a BH on the 15 series and love them.
The way the sub frame mounted backhoes are on the 10 series, is what sold me on them.

The 3015 was formerly a Cub Cadet, w/Mitsubishi motor and drivetrain. I have a 23HP Gear Model and it is a tough, dependable machine. I want to upgrade at some point to more HP and HST and I think that machine would be a good candidate. I don't think you would be at all unhappy with the machine. One question I had, you mentioned pulling stumps, how do you plan on pulling them? Using the FEL or hooking up something to the rear. Even at its size I don't know how big a stump you can pull with it. Let us know what you get.

Stumps probably with the FEL.

Not sure which way I'm leaning at this point.

Price for the tractor, FEL and a bush hog with tax and delivery was just a little over 18k.

I want to shop around a little more.

I can't pay in full with cash, so I also want to look at other credit options as well (with this tractor it was 4.99% for 72 months).

Since the most expensive vehicle I've ever owned cost me 14k, I have to keep reminding myself that it's only money /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Sigarms,

I understand the shopping around and still looking. I think I looked for about two years off and on, finally got the go ahead from my Financial Advisor/Wife. At that point I started really driving her crazy looking and driving all over southern Maine and New Hampshire looking at deals. The deal I finally go was excellent, I really didn't care if the tractor was green, blue, orange, or yellow. You are doing the right thing by reading and checking before you decide to pounce. I think that when you compare apples to apples comparing different brands, HP/WGT/Etc you'll find many things are comparable on each tractor but the prices will probably vary.

I think you need to look larger. A 3510 gear or better yet 4110. If those are out of your price range look at used stuff in the 40 hp range. There are some fine tractors in that range to be had.

You might be able to find a TYM-USA dealer near you. They are essentially the same tractor as the Mahindra 10 series. You would just be dealing with a smaller company and maybe a little less long term stability - maybe not.

My Mahindra dealer also sells TYM-USA and they look real nice. I just didn't need that heavy duty of a tractor. I wanted it but didn't "need" it. My needs won the battle for the $$$.

I'm happy with my 2615 Gear but you probably need a little more tractor. I think the 10 series is more heavy duty and may take a little more abuse and can put the HP to the ground with more weight. The 15 series is really for us little 5 acre guys.

I just noted your comment about digging out stumps with the FEL. The FEL on the 15 series isn't that tough. It will bend pretty easily. Even with a toothbar I put a slight bend into mine trying to nudge an old post set in concrete out of the ground. Fortunately the bend was easy to bend back too.

I checked this TYM website out. These look like the 10 series, but the specifications (like HP, PTO, etc) are different.
The website does NOT have a place to "LOCATE A DEALER".
Interesting that someone puts up a website with their products, but does not tell HOW TO BUY THEM, OR WHERE TO BUY THEM. Interesting marketing indeed. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

</font> On TYM's Korean based website they list the Mahindra '10' series models as well as TYM's 'T' series models.
