Anyone have any exp. pulling a 5' woods finish mower with a 1500D?? I currently use it with a 195, acording to the power rating the 1500 is almost the same HP. Any thoughts??

I have a 1500D and a 4ft finish mower. I don't think I'd have any trouble running a 5ft. The only reason I don't have a 5ft is that the 4ft was thrown in with the tractor when I bought it.

I think I also read elsewhere on this board that a good rule of thumb for the 1500 is a 5 ft finish mower but only a 4ft rough cut mower.

Rob is dead on. It will run that 5' finish with ease! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

I run a 4ft. rotary cutter on my 186D (US equivalent to 1510D) and have no problem with it at all. I really think that it could power a 5ft. rotary cutter without much of a problem, but it would just be too much weight for the tractor to handle safely.
You shouldn't have any problem with the 5ft. finish mower.

I am pulling a 5ft. finish mower with a 1401(17hp) and it does a great job. I cut four acres every five days. When I purchased the 1401 I bought a 4ft mulching mower. The mulcher is alright if the grass isn't wet or high. The 5 ft is a rear discharge and my opinion this is the best type. It seems that the 4ft mulcher was harder to pull than the 5ft rear discharge.
