I wish to thank the person who emailed me to tell me of the attack on me by jknight and EFC. I have had these two email me and surprise of surprise they knew each other from before these postings (although they didn't say so). I have been receiving emails from EFC supporters attacking my business. Thats ok but it should not go unanswered. At last count there were 40+ postings; 6 by jknight and 3 by EFC. jknight started this whole thing by questioning the presence of a 3 cyl Ym1500D. He told me in an email he had owned "several" and now he's changed to owning only two.In his first two postings he states I told him I had a 3 cyl YM1500D (which I did). Next he states I said it was an OEM 3 cyl (which I didn't). Next he lists a direct quote in which he does not quote OEM but quotes ..."3cyl are available to us." (which is correct). Anyone old hot rodder like we have can put a 3cyl in a YM1500D for a nice tractor. Most tractor buffs with minimal mechanical skills can. He then sprinkles through questions of my honesty and credibility. Now we are accused of not answering email and t-calls. Look at the postings of jknight who starts asking a tractor question and ends up with how terrible we are and he won't buy from us. In steps Mr.EFC and talks about my hp ratings (which are lower than his by the way tractor for tractor model). He and his surrogate jknight then have a pretend discourse and agree how bad we are. Our ads in which we speak about EFC price comparisons are available to all and they don't change so if you want to look you can do a Yahoo search for Inland Northwest Classified Ads and you'll find our ads (sorry not a $1,000 worth-count the words) and you won't find one bad word about EFC. On my site I do price comparisons and questions about loaders and others.I won't put my web site here but you can find a link in the ads. Two folks got together and tried to snooker all of you. I'm happy to see that most didn't fall for it. And yes since the three cylinder is gone we'll change that horrible bait and switch error. Thanks. Bob

Wow Bob are you that paranoid. I have never talked to Jknight or met him. I am on this board everyday trying to help where I can. I saw Jknights post and looked at his bio and saw that he was in the Pacific Northwest and I had seen that picture on your sight and on your sight you label it as 3cyl so I put two and two together, even a rookie like me can figure that out. There is no great conspiracy against you Bob. I don’t have time for that. I have not had one person email you, if I want to talk to you I will do it myself. In fact I did as I remember. Just because somebody is mad at you doesn’t mean it is my fault or that they are a friend of mine, wow. If you think this is a conspiracy then at least you moved to the right place. The hp figures you post are accurate but you know we have a dealer right down the road in Idaho that sells the same tractors we do with 20% more power and I have seen it on eBay quite a bit lately. That was never directed at you.

   / 1500D Question #3
First of all let me thank the person or persons who let this dealer know what was being said so he took it as a personal attack and then came on the open forum and identified himself (yes I am being sarcastic). I specifically was not trying to make a personal attack on anyone, that is why I intentionally did not identify the dealership publicly, only by private correspondence when asked. Remember he is the one who identified himself. Nobody else here has mentioned his company openly to date.

Second, this dealer is the one that told me about EFC as I had never heard of them before, I have never talked to them and probably won't as I was able to get one of my old tractors back yesterday morning (another story). So this dealer can believe what he wants, if he is into the conspiracy theory thing, maybe he has watched that movie with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts too many times.

Third, if someone asks a dealer about an advertised tractor then I think they should at least get a straight answer about it. It probably would have been much clearer and honest for him to say that they were never manufactured with a 2 cyl engine, but as an improvement we are modifiying it to put a better (?) 3 cyl engine in it!

Forth, here in redneck country where I come from "several" means two or more, but heck maybe I need to take and english lesson. When I said several I ment two and clarified this in another email to him when he questioned if I was a dealer or not (you know that conspiracty theory thing kicking in again).

Fifth, because of my eductation and redneck status I am not sure of the meaning of the word "surrogate" (here it might mean a broken gate and the cows are going to get out), but I can tell you that I am not one with anybody, if the meaning is insulting.

Sixth, I thought my questions were legitimate and others on this board kinda sucked me into it by asking more and more questions. I saw this on earlier topics in which dealers were even complaining about other dealers misadvertisement and misrepresentation of tractors, but I have never seen a dealer post up in response like this. I think this response by this dealer lends credibility to what I was saying later in the thread. Why he thinks that it is an attack on him, I don't know because I never mentioned "him" at all!!!!!!!!!!!

Seventh, If any of you think that I was trying to "Snooker" anyone here, then I promise never to ask another question on this board or bother you with my participation. I don't want to cause problems, I have been completely up front and honest.

Eighth, I thought that this forum was for open discussion about topics concerning Yanmar tractors, and being America and all you could pretty much say what you want. I could have named the dealer right out here in the open and didn't as that was not the purpose of the topic. I am a business owner too and honesty is really important in business. Early in the other thread, someone suggested that maybe he just made a typo about the tractor in question. That is what I thought too and still do, I just think he is too hard headed to admit it! So we go through all of this because I asked a question. Whew, what a world we live in.

I could continue to make points about all of this and probably make him more upset or upset others, therefore I will stop now.

God bless to all and remember that we are just talking about tractors here, it is small beans compared to the real problems in the world.

Is this war over yet????????????????????

Swapping in a larger engine sounds like a reasonable alternative to buying a different tractor. Since you have done it already, how about a discussion on what swaps are practical and what are not. For example, could I bolt a 30 hp Yanmar engine into my 1500D. Or is that not a good idea because the trans or differentials wouldn't stand up to the additional HP? What would be the largest that would be a bolt in?

If I decide to replace my 2cyl with a 3cyl, will I have to move the radiator forward?

This sounds like a good discussion for a new thread.

It sounds like a good idea to use this forum to discuss the ins and outs of upsizing a tractor's engine.

The 3 cyl upsizing really works well. I'll contact the hot rodder and get him involved as he can probably better address the limits. He is also an excellent machinist and builds parts for us at good prices so he will be the answer guy on a lot of questions about the subject.

I'll be back soon.

As flame sessions go, I'd say this one has been pretty tame and even has some technical merit. And I'd like to congratulate EFC and tractorlet on a gentlemanly bout so far... As far as business reputations go, I have no doubt that everyone takes internet opinions with a large size grain of salt. And if they don't; they should.
My own opinion is that I'd need to talk to a several real life tractor customers from each dealer as well as an outside dealer before even thinking about forming an opinion.
Make that two grains of salt, please....and an aspirin...

Anyone have a listing ( partial listing? ) of what engines will bolt up to what tranny cases?

Any compatibility differences between the grey and domestic similar model engines? Like 195 / 240 vs 1700, etc?
