1520 and adding a 758B backhoe

Can someone please post the GPM requirements of the NH 758B backhoe attachment, waterbury needs to know so he can move forward. I spent a several minutes trying to do so but no luck and I didn't want to go to the NH site as it takes forever on my dial up to even reach the home page.

I've got a 758B BH and I have the Operators manual. I've been through the 32 page manual a couple times now and can't find a reference to recommended GPM flow. The hoe was originally designed for the Ford 1920, though, and the capacity of that tractor is 7.8 GPM according to TractorData. The older 1520 comes in at 6.8 GPM according to TractorData. The relief pressure on the hoe is 2200 psi and the 1520 only generates 2133 max. The BH weight comes in at about 1300 pounds with mounting hardware and bucket. I don't think you would find a dealer recommending the pairing of these units but it would probably work albeit at reduced capacity and slower operation. Someone with more hydraulic knowledge than me might give more advice on this however.

I'm no expert but I'm thinking the 758B even at a reduced capacity will still have as much digging force as a smaller backhoe and have some extra reach also. I don't run mine at full rpm's usually anyways. If I was the op I would go for it. And if it didn't work get a bigger tractor.

I've been expecting photo's of it mounted and working.

Me too. I've got the same tractor and have been wondering about backhoe options! :D

Thanks to all for chiming in and apologies for not replying to or getting back to the board sooner. After careful consideration I thought it best to try to find the correct BH and I sold the 758B locally to a fella with a 1910. It makes just about zero sense for me to go through the expense of adding a BH and frankly, it was more of an exercise in padding my modest toy inventory. As I mentioned earlier my landscaping needs are very modest - a very slightly sloping, borderline flat, nearly clear cut, .75 acre piece of property a fair portion of which is taken up by the footprint of the dwelling and driveway. There is a 100 foot corner section that needs to be scraped clear for some planting and the creation of a pad to put a shed on and another section to scrape and create a crushed rock pad to park some stuff on. After that I'll need to move/plant trees and other greens then the tractor will be used to mulch with, clear snow occasionally and tow my boat and landscape trailer around the property rather than driving my SUV and tracking it up. The point being - I don't need a backhoe. Still, if anyone has a lead on a 757 or 756 reasonably close to CT please let me know because common sense has very little to do with my purchasing behavior.

This weekend I found a barely used Lands Pride box blade local to me at an attractive price ($350) that should accomplish my grading/scraping needs and as I'm finding out a host of other uses. I've also purchased both a 3 pt carry all and a lift boom. This is my first real tractor so I'm at the foot of a steep learning curve but man oh man can that box blade do work. I used the lift boom to take the box blade off my little trailer and that operation got the heart racing a few times - still figuring out how to gently moderate the 3 pt lift and deal with swinging boomed junk. Additionally, I have purchased bucket forks and I learned the meaning of 3 pt attachment fastening frustration so I bought a quick hitch from Harbor Freight on the cheap (sale price, then signed up for their version of the frequent flyer card - $10 off, and then used a 20% off any purchase on top of that to get the price to $72). Forks cost me $125, carry all $229 from Everything Attachments, and forgot to add that I bought a Universal Quick Attach Tooth Bar from ToothBar.net. Pictures to follow when I figure out how to post them! Thanks all.

It looks like woods made the frame mount backhoe. Does anyone here have any knowledge about that on a nh1520?
