Yep not trying to modify, just trying to make it work like it should.
Mahindra lists Breakout at 2650lbs and lift at 1650lbs at the pins. Mahindra doesn't, but Kubota does, list their specs at 500mm or about 20" in front of the pins as well- basically the front of the bucket. Both numbers show about a 25% reduction in force. Even with this 25% reduction the curl is significantly greater than lift. While not identical, the principle is the same- curl is greater than lift with the bucket attached. That was/is not the case with my machine.

Ha! You may be right. It makes me cringe a little when people start messing with increasing capacities, yet I appreciate a guy that is willing to take a few chances. Just like car guys, you buy a fast car and then spend thousands adding 100 HP and voiding your warranty. But what the heck, life is short. I just think that when you do these things, you need to be man enough to suffer any consequences, and I suspect RNeumann is realistic about that.

As a tweaker, you need to I hopefully have a good idea when to stop before a tweak turns into a breakdown. So Dave, you have admitted to tweaking a few thinks in your life, many regrets?

Nope, no regrets, but I am not sure I have actually admitted to tweaking things...although it is true. :) I say go for it as long as you are willing to be a big boy and deal with the consequences. Added 117 HP (cam/tune) to my 505 factory horsepower in a Z06. Because you know, 505 isn't enough in a 3050 lb car! Currently going to cut a cabrio Unimog right through the floor and make it into a 4-door because it's fun to bring friends on extreme picnicking trips. But if I mess things up, it's on me. I get a kick out of guys that are willing to take some chances and customize things...so long as they take responsibility for their actions.

The opposite extreme is the guy that is afraid to tilt his steering wheel or adjust his seat because he doesn't want to void his warranty. Life is too short for that sort of fear.

Not often do I miss it, but occasionally I get the go fast bug. I drove a Hellcat, it was a nice car but heavy. I looked at an all black C7 Z06 the other day and sure liked it. But I think I'll stay with the off road type vehicles for now. I've got a Rubicon that is set up nicely, and the Unimog, if I ever finish it, for the tougher stuff. The newer Corvettes are such nice cars with impressive performance, but unless you track the car it's hard to use much of it's potential. 100 mph comes up in under 7 seconds and unless you are on a track, you are already being really stupid by that point.

217 Corvette Grand Sport: Sports Car | Chevrolet, 30 mpg. I like it but a real tight fit for me. My old 03 Cobra is still on the original clutch, 84K, 600 HP. 23 mpg hi-way, and I just fit.
Getting back to tractors, just for fun, I tried to see what the Max could do with the rock I moved with the L39 last night. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/374740-my-wife-wants-gazebo-help-7.html#post4802034
Well to my surprise the Max was able to roll over a near 3,000 Lb Rock.

I did not use the 4WD front assist, as not to overload the front bevel gears. The lift cylinder would stall trying to lift and roll it over. The relief valve has a washer set to 2,300 psi, about 5% over maximum spec, so I figure I have around 1,500 lbs lift @ full height at the pins, still not enough to roll the Rock. The curl is stronger, so I was able to lift using the curl and push forward to roll it over. Try that with your B-Series Kubota! Well maybe a B26 could? Having an steel filled 700Lb counterweight helps, but the rear end nearly was off the ground. The Max28 is a Mighty Mouse of a tractor, and way easier to use with implements than the L39.

A careful operator like yourself can push the limits and not break much. Rolling the rock is a good example. I bet RNeumann follows your example and puts on larger curl cylinders.

We have a similar car history, I had a Mustang Cobra, but it was a clone, not the real deal. A ton of fun, and pretty cheap as hot rod cars go.

Anyone can restore something but it takes guts to cut em up and make it how you want it.
