It appears that the 1533 and 1540 have a factory defect in the hydraulic system that they cannot figure out.
The tractor will usually work just fine until it reaches running temp, and then the pump chirps and chatters, sometimes sounding as if it is going to grenade for a spell.
If you are lifting durring one of these episodes, the loadedr or rear 3-PT will jump and bounce.
The dealer has been great to work with, but it will soon be a year that the factory has failed to fix the problem.
How many others have the same problem?

Is your tractor a Power Shuttle, Hyrdro or Syncro Shuttle? The Syncro Shuttle's had an update on the hydraulic system. on't remember exactly what it was for but it may have something to do with it. The Power Shuttle tractors also have an update to the routing of the filter. That may be worth your dealer looking into.

I have a 1533 synchro shuttle that I bought new 2.5 years ago. It occassioinally has the chirping noise and the loader will bounce like you mention. It is not very frequent, and for me, appears to happen more often before it warms up. If a fix for this symptom is know, I would love to hear about it.

Mine is a 1540 sync-shuttle.
It has been back to the dealer 3 times.
First they installed a "kit" for cavitation.
On the last visit they installed a reverse flow filter manifold.
No change.
The dealer is really good to deal with.
The frustration is, that Massey hasn't put there engineers on it hot and heavy to solve the problem.
Otherwise, it is a really good tractor.

as long as my 1540 Hydro is warmed up properly the hydraulics work perfectly. I hope they solve your problem and please let us know when they do.

Sooooo that is my problem. I don't have a problem that I could see with my 3pt, but every time I go to lift my FEL it acts like there is air in the system. I guess this is the "jerking" that is talked about? If I use FEL allot I see this happen less, but it is still there.

I have a 1533 power shuttle and have none of the problems you speak about. I have over 50 hrs on it and just used it hard the other day for an hour pushing back snow banks. No issues. I hope it gets resolved.

I talked to the M-F salesman yesterday about that defect. He said he had had three tractors come in with that problem. He said that it was caused by the hydraulic filter, that it allowed too much air to get in the lines. He said that all three had had filter kits installed and had fixed the problem on all of them. He also said that none of the newer tractors had the problem.
