My 1540 has the new filter kit which made no difference.
I guess they are going to replace the pump this time.

Would anyone happen to have a few pics of this "kit" that they could post?

Man, that is one beautiful place. I really love the walkway. Nice tractor, too!

Hi Folks. I've been watching the discussions for a couple of weeks, and decided to jump in when I saw this one. I have a 2006 1547 with cab, FEL and hydro.I have had my tractor back to the dealer several times because of cavitation in the bucket rollout. It happens whether the bucket is full or empty. The dealer put a "Kit"on it to reduce the flow, but the bucket became slow as molasses, so I sent it back. The technician drilled it out, but it didn't increase the speed. Once the snow started, I got tired of waiting on it so I took the reducer out, and put up with the cavitation, being as it doesn't happen until the bucket is dumped nearly 90 degrees. The technician said this was a common problem in the 1533, but this was the first 1547 they had heard of. Has anyone else had a problem with a 1547?

Did your dealer say anything to you about putting the control lever all the way to the right past the detent into regenerative to dump?

The dealer mentioned that, but I find the regenative slower than the hydraulics. My dealer tells me this is a problem they have even with some of the larger ag tractors until you get into the 100hp range, then you have more than enough ponies to move hydraulic fluid. He said that he didn't think it was anything they would be able to fix. Kind of disappointing, wish the guys at Massey would get on it.:(

The restrictor in the kit should only reduce flow one direction (when dumping bucket). Possibly a standard orifice restrictor was installed or the restrictor was installed backwards.

A standard reducer was installed originally till the factory fix arrived. You could have a nap waiting for the bucket to dump when that was in. I tried the regen again today (as we had 8 inches of white stuff when I got up), and I made have been hasty saying it was to slow, it actually worked quite well.

Try this.
When you first start to dump, use the regular dump. When you see the bucket start to move, then move the handle on over to regenerative.
It should work the fastest that way.

It seems to me that if I don't properly discharge my hydraulic system when I shut down, I get the noise. But if I raise the FEL and 3 pt all the way, turn the tractor off, then lower the 3 pt and drop the FEL (including letting gravity roll the bucket down) all the way to the ground, then work the FEL hydraulics until I don't hear the fluid moving any more, I don't have problems with the hydraulic noise the next time.

I don't know if air somehow gets pressurized into the hydraulic fluid through use? If I need to bleed the system better? If there's some other problem beyond the noise that I haven't encountered yet but soon will?

Hope this helps...
