1533 pulling power

Ya'll reckon the 1533 will pull a 6 1/2 or 7' disc harrow. I know my dad has a 2wd 29 hp that pulls a 5 1/2' well, got to be real wet to bog it. I figure I shouldn't have any trouble, got 4wd if I need it. Has anybody used this sized disc harrow with their 1533? What about you 1540 guys, I know ya'll got more hp, but tractor size and weight about the same. The one I want weighs 650-750 lbs I believe.

I can easily pull a 6ft behind my MF1040, 32 HP diesel. Im guessing its weight is about 700 lbs. The tractors dry weight is 3800lbs without the front loader. Its a geared machine.

I doubt you would have a problem.

I don't know as I haven't tried yet, but let us know if you do and how it goes. I'll be borrowing either a harrow or a tiller in the next couple of weeks to work a small spot. I'll post back when I do...

Much appreciated guys. I got a 5 footer I'll be using soon. If it pulls easily, I'm going to try a 6 1/2 or 7, I think I located a loaner. I know it'll probably snatch the blades off the 5 foot disc though, so I gotta talk the CFO into some more allowance for the bigger one.

Bought a new 6' 9" Howse disc today, medium duty, weighs 850 lbs. I'd have gotten heavy duty but couldn't justify another $300 for a garden and food plots for deer.
Tractor pulls it like nothing's there. I did have the loader on and ground is hard as a brick, though. I was in 2 hi 2wd so I don't see any problems even w/o loader and if we ever get any rain.
Had to go out of town to get it. Locals sell tractors, but for price of implements they must want to keep them on the lot. Saved $400 in a 30 minute drive.
You fellas with the 1540s could probably pull an 8' or better depending on soil and whether it's medium or heavy duty.
