1533 vs 2538, closer than you think

I have a 2538 that did the same thing on the h-m-l shifter, it does break in over time though. Im at 40hrs on mine and it is much easier than when it was new. One thing that helps is getting any tension off the transmission, just tap the pedals back and forth a bit if it gets stuck. I did find it easier to shift when in 2 wheel drive as well. From what I have read is after the 50hr maintenance it loosens up a lot and should shift very easy.

I've had my 1533 for almost 2 years now. Love it. Not 1 problem. (knock on wood).

I love my 2538 HST, and I am sure I would love a 1538 as well.

No plans for a backhoe.
Good points about the toolbox. Was merely looking for a little info. Would a couple 3/8" shackles, a few cotter pins and a needle nose pliers fit in it?
billbill, Let me know how the addition of a toolbox goes.

One other thing I forgot to ask about (been thinking of posting a new thread in the Mahindra operating section, but haven't since I don't own one) was the H/M/L range shifter on the 2538. That thing leaves quite a bit to be desired. I had to work the heck outta that thing to get it to shift anywhere. It always felt stuck. I tried it at full stop and also while trying to barely roll. I tried with the brake off and on too as if it were a clutch. But there is no clutch and I just had a hard time with shifting ranges. I found many false neutrals too. I even banged my right elbow/funny bone hard on the ROPS one time while trying to shift, let's just say it wasn't very "funny"

Seems like the 1533 is winning me over .

I have no input for the 2538 but the range shifter on my 1538 shuttle machine works well.

Only thing I really like better on the TYM is tire Size is a bit larger, Otherwise, aside from some minor stuff, the Mitsubishi Tractors seem a bit better fit & Finish, still not as nice as the Grand L Kubota, but nice enough. Which one feels better, and go for it.
