You're gonna love it - it made quick and easy work of those brush/saplings, and the 4wd climbs like a goat...

Thanks! Although, aside from that little spot I showed and another ~7-8 acre field that I cut, it's all still pretty ugly! It's never really been maintained, so I have a few years of hard work ahead of me before it'll all be looking good, I think. Totally overgrown brush. Rutted, swampy fields. Old fallen trees. Zigzags of old barbed wire fences. Whew...Just glad to now have the tool to do it...

I was looking at your pictures....YOU have some beautiful land. That wooden walkway is awesome, too. That's the kind of thing I'm striving for...

I'll try to take lots of before/after pics as I go....I'm sure I'm not the only one that enjoys seeing them...

Ratter... Thanks for the kind words.

That Walkway was the 1st thing like that I ever made. LOL you should of seen how I got those 6x8 across the creek and moving them around. To move them where I wanted them (all done by hand), I cut down a tree, cut some logs and use the logs for rollers to move the 6x8.

I know what you mean about "ugly", when I 1st got my place I thought I would never get it to where it is today. Looking at my pics, every foot of my place was chest high in field "stuff", you name it it was there. All I did was Bush hog everything in late summer almost 5years ago and let it sit, then the following summer I would cut it like good hold grass, hard going I should add. Eve use a 23hp Garden tractor to take care of 11ac?. Then before I knew it (yes took 2 summers) it looks like it dose now. I wish I had some pics on my computer of this place, you wouldn't believe it is the same place. Point being, you will get what you are looking for with some PLAYING (I mean work), by the looks of your place (what I can see) you have a piece of property that most would die for. Keep working at, once it's done, then it will be nothing but cutting grass.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm sure it will get there. I tried attacking the 52 acres with a 17hp Kubota, so I can relate to what you went through! My neighbor graciously took care of a lot of cutting for me when I didn't have the means to. But now I can begin to take care of my own. I'm going to try to get every cuttable area cut by the end of summer. Then as things die down and dry out in the fall and winter I'll start attacking the fence lines. I've been staying clear of them so as to not catch any loose barbed wire up in the cutter. You know it's overgrown when you can't even see the fence posts in there!

We bought our GC2310 at Lincoln Supply last May. Very happy so far. Had a couple of small issues - the service staff was very cooperative in helping us out. (Has a 2 year bucket to bucket warranty). That 1540 makes our GC23100 look tiny. What is HP rating??

Where are you located? Ligonier here. The 1540 is 40 engine HP, 31 PTO HP.

I am about 5 miles north of Jennerstown. We also have a 1968 International 444 with a 5' Woods rotatary to mow our 40 acres of cleared land. It takes some time to finish.
