I ordered the optional rear work light for my MF1540, I found the factory electrical connection point but I'm not sure where to mount the light itself (singe screw mount). No instructions came with the light.

I think it is suppose to mount to the PTO guard plate. There is a hole in the plate on the left side (looking at the PTO shaft). Also, it came with a rounded washer that seems to match the radius of the PTO guard plate corner.

This seems to be a good place, but I'm slightly concerned about the moving parts around the wireing and debis. Has anyone added one of these to their 1500 series?

I have never seen the factory light on a MF compact, but the pictures that I have seen show them mounted behind the seat above the rear panel. It shouldn't be mounted anywhere near the PTO.

Massy has a plate with 2 holes in it that bolts to the top right rear of the tractor... You should see the holes I am talking about, if you found the power wire. There is one hole on the top of that plate/bracket to hold your light.

I was going to do the same as you, but I am going to go this route....

This way having the magnetic base you can stick it anywhere and move it all around the trackor. IF you like this thought all is not lost, just find a magnetic base for your new light and do the same.

EDIT... I found one of my photos that some what shows the 2 holds that I am talking about, if you look close at the left of the pic you can see 1 and half of the other...

I thought that was the obvious place, but I didn't get a bracket with my factory light. I guess the dealer has never installed one of these before. I'll call them and ask about the bracket. Thanks!!

Post where you found the magnetic mount light. I may get a couple of those too.

I think you will have to go there to look in a book for that bracket, I mean if you think they have never sold one, then they could have a problem understanding what you want. By going there you can go right up to a tractor and point the 2 holes out to them. I wish I had a pic of it. It looks somewhat like a metal box and tappers a bit where the hole would be for the light, it really doesn't look like a bracket.

I found the light photo here at bosstoolsupply.com... But you can go to NAPA, I am sure they will have it in their "big book" of parts.
