thanks curt, found fordlords posts on his cub. very neat story. i checked small engine warehouse. they are proposing putting a 24hp honda engine in a 1541. cost would be about 1900.00 and sounds like i would have to ship my cub to them for the conversion. do not know if this would be possible at this time. this is almost more than what the tractor is worth. by the way, the shop that is working on my cub is an authorized kohler repair shop. the problem is that i purchased the cub second hand so there is no warranty to cover the repair. the other problem is that this is the first magnum that he has ever torn apart. from all that i have found is that this is a pretty complicated engine..good but complicated. so far he has been good about the whole thing. i still have not given up on the convertion thing if anyone can help.
