I'm in the market for a compact tractor with a cab. Until this past weekend I thought my choices were limited to Kubota and Kioti. I stoped at a local Kioti dealer and discovered that MF had entered the compact market with a cab and I'm leaning heavily toward the MF now. The dealer didn't have very much info on the MF 1552 bc he said he had only had the unit on the lot for just over a week, it was equiped with the dyna qps tranny. It was 4wd and priced at $29K due to the dyna qps. I know I can get a similary equiped kubota for around $22K. The dealer told me the only way I could get the MF 1552 was with the dyna qps tranny which he thought was adding atleast $4k to the price. I don't need this fancy tranny, all i need is something with shuttle shift and a clutch. Does anyone know if you can get the 1552 or 1547 cab models iwth something other than the dyna qps tranny?

Go to the Massey website and look.

The dealer was correct on the particular model (1552) that you looked at.

However, the 1547 is avaiable with either a DynaQPS (powershift) or Hydro transmission. The price difference is nil.

It looks like according to the spec sheet, That if you get the 2WD it is the QPS trans, But if you get 4WD you can get 8x8 or 12x12 shuttle, or three range hydro .... My understanding of this is coming from the location of the astrek* on the QPS option which is also located on the 2WD portion of the heading on the spec sheet...unless the * is pertaining to the whole line thus meaning its the only trans available as others have stated.."I'm SOOO confused" /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Its not he first time...

I also see they offer a cab for the 1533 but not the 1540 /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif can this be right ?? why offer cabs for 1533 ,1547,1552 and skip over 1540??

If the 1533 is not too small you can definately get the trans of your choice /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The 2wd is only available as a platform model with 8x8 transmission. The 4wd is available in platform with 8x8, 12x12, HST. The 4wd is also availale in a cab version with either DynaQPS or HST. Reason 1540 does not have a cab is because of the turbo. No room for the compressor.
