Nope, still no 15W/45 in the US as per the SAE J300 Viscosity Grades for Engine Oils.

Not saying someone somewhere doesn't make it. It's just not a recognized viscosity here in the US.

And what would CAFE or EPA standards have to do with 15W/40 oil other than a very slight fuel economy improvement with a 10W/30?

I ran that through Babelfish. Those Cortec guys take their lubricants seriously.

Yeah, I ran it through Bablefish last night and came up with some really really weird translations. Something about a brother and sister inlaw??? Got to love universal translators.

You have to remember that manufacture have a plus or minus 10% for a batch of oil to be considered in spec. For less friction from the fluid go with the lower viscosity recommended for the temperatures you will be operating in.

What the world needs is more oil viscosities. Now it's 15w 45.
