It would cost more to get 5k axles, but you might want to check into it. It is very easy to overload a 7k trailer. JC

just paid $2200 for a 20' version, no dovetail, but it has a diamond plate floor instead of wood planks, a spare tire with rack, and adjustable hitch.

agreed, the trailer weight itself takes a pretty good bite out of the axle load bearing capacity, but i can't pull more with my truck anyway, so it is a good blend of form and function for my particular needs. adding heavier axles adds weight and might tempt you to try to haul more than your truck is rated for.

i got mine from millertime manufacturing in nowata, OK. the only thing i would have changed is have them move the axles up about a foot forward under the frame. i have to load the tractor all the way to the rear to get a good weight balance and i would prefer to be able to pile more implements and other things (mulch, dirt, whatever) up front. they way the axles are now, it kind of limits me unless i counter weight the rear to get a balance. overall, though, a well built trailer.

here's a pic or two. days are heating up around here, starting to long for those cold wintery temps!

Sounds way too cheap to me. A similar trailer 6 yr ago cost me 2,300.00. Adjusting for the price of steel would probably be closer to 3,000.00 now. I just sold mine. I don't recommend 7000GVW because of the limited hauling capacity. Just because a trailer is rated for more doesn't me you will tow it at that weight. But the extra beef will actually pull easier and will give you a margin of safety. My new one on order is 14K deckover BetterBuilt 20+4. I can't tow 14K but at least what I do put on it will look like its meant to be there. Oh yeh.... the price......6500.00 and some change.

NICE TRAILER!!! I like the jacks on the back. That'd help a lot if you're loading/unloading a heavy tractor or skid steer and keeping the rear of the truck on the ground on a slope.

What's the axle ratings?

thanks. they are 7,000 lb axles. (2 x 3500)

i see you and i both have similar tastes in small engine equipment. i, too, have the stihl fs55 weed wacker and the bg55 blower!

rollbar - sounds like a good deal.
also sounds a lot like the trailer i got from Hedererbuilt in Poplar Bluff, Mo a year ago - only mine included the cost of surge brakes on both axels.

I bought an 18' (16+2 dove) with diamond bed , stow away ramps and a break away box about 3 months ago and paid 1850.00 for it. Sounds like you got a pretty good price!
