1635 Box Blade

Yea, I watched the EA video and was really impressed but a lot of people here are talking about heavier being better so I'm kinda confused on my choices.

Nothing against EA, their implements are about the best that there is for the weight that they are. But what does a professional use? It is not a 500lb BB. If the lighter weight implements were the way to go, THAT is what every pro would be using. It isn't. ;)

^ EXACTLY!! ^ lighter is not always better. Get a quote from your dealer, hey may give you a deal.

I use a Land Pride Landplane, 750 lbs.

If you are going to just depend on the weight of the box blade to move dirt, then yes, you would
need a heavier BB. If, you are going to use the scarifiers to break up the packed dirt, rock and
gravel, first or even while scraping with the blade, then, you could get by with a lighter well made
unit. With what you are planning on doing, a heavier BB may be needed. What you get will depend
on what is available for you and what you can afford. Good luck.

Just my :2cents: worth.:D

Tom:thumbsup:

Went ahead an got a howse from the dealer for a good price. Now I'm torn between the LP1672 finish mower, Bush Hog RDTH 72 mower, and Howse C372 the dealer want to sell me. Leaning towards the LP but would like to buy from the dealer. He's been pretty good to me. I just don't know much about the Howse mowers. Any ideas on which of the three would be the best?

I've got the LP1672 that I run behind a '67 MF 135 with Cont. gas engine...cuts great, don't need to run it at PTO speed for a great cut (PTO speed on the 135 is at 1700rpm..I usually run it at about 14-1500 engine rpm)...BobG in VA

Thanks. I believe the LP1672 is what I'm going to get but I'm unsure about the HP rating on it. They list a maximum of 30HP and my MF1635 has 35HP. Worried about this a bit.

When they list out HP ratings for PTO implements, that is at the PTO, not engine HP. Your 1635HST has 25.8 HP at the PTO. You're fine. ;)

That's good to know. On the LP website they printed as engine HP. I think I'll order me one.

That is very odd that they have it listed that way. (I'm sure that it is a mistake) How in the world would they know how much power you were putting to the PTO with a 30HP engine? What if you had a gear model, way more power. It has to be mistake. I have seen others as well, not the first and I'm sure it's not the last. :(
