You could just screw in an OEM switch.

He could have, but with the OEM oil sender switch, Yanmar took the term "idiot light" to a new low and lack of information. It activates the warning light when the pressure drops below 3 psi.
Yanmar seem to be more concerned about overpressure in the high pressure/high rpm range and has a fairly sophisticated bypass setup to avoid that happening.....but no feedback to the warning light circuit for overly high pressure.
