The bolt-on cutter bar came from my New Holland dealer, part No. 86604458. List price - 189.90 (my price - $172.64). It bolts on the bottom of the loader and extends about 1-1/2 in. beyond the loader's bottom edge. the back edge is also bevelled down to a cutting edge, so it is reversible. Being a New Holland part, it bolts perfectly to the available mounting holes in the heavy duty bucket. No grinding required (Are you listening GMASON? This Texan is bragging...). My dealer provided me with flat headed sweep bolts to mount the bar (eight 1/2 inch, I think). I'll take a picture of the whole setup as soon as it stops pouring rain here in North Texas and send you a picture.

GMASON seems to have found a nice tooth-bar instead of the smooth cutting bar I have. I can identify with his frustration at getting the bar fitted to his bucket, but it sound like it is worth the effort. Maybe we can talk him into attaching a photo of his bar.

...come to think of it, wouldn't it be nice if we could have a place on this board for showing photos of installed dealer and third party attachments? Does this interest anyone else?

back again here with a new issue today with my deluxe control handle for the loader. it seemed to be sticking at some point today and after moving it around a little in different directions i felt something pop. Now the loader will rotate the bucket but the arms themselves with not go down or up. i looked and it seems there at least 3 little ball joints at the base of the handle that controls the hydraulic actuators and it looks like a pin that connects through one those ball joints has sheered off and there is no pin though the hole of that ball joint anymore. at first glance i could see anything that looked like a "bolt" that went through the other 2 ball joints that still are good. it looked more just like a pin of sorts.
anyone had anything like this before? i don't see anything listed on the NH parts diagram New Holland 16LA - NH FARM LOADER(12/99 - 06/06) Parts DiagramsNew Holland 16LA - NH FARM LOADER(12/99 - 06/06) Parts Diagrams

Welcome back to your 24 year old post :). You were almost there in the parts book, one page off. Look at #29, 30 and 34. All but perhaps #34 can be had through McMaster Carr or Grainger. Or just Google Heim Joints.

Thanks for the link yea those look like the ball joint i have.
could be that the bolt just got loose and the pin through the ball joint moved enough to work it's way out of it. i'll look more tomorrow when i take some of the plastic off.
just retired this year so i have a little more time to post now.

Those Hex head for 27 parts 3 screws.
My 6mm hex is small and the 7mm is to big
I tried a 1/4"and it was too big.
So I found one that was about 6.27mm and it fit.
But those screw are really hard to get out. The 4in hex wrench isn't enough so now I'm going to try a little pipe for that 4in to see if I can get one out. WD40 too

ok looking at the parts diagram my issue was that part 34 came out of ball joint 29. there's 2 of these on mine that don't have a nut on the end of the shaft that goes through the ball joint. The ball joint 29 and the screw #27 was very tight with thread locker on it so it took a good bit of torque to free it up. once i got it off i had to free up the ball joint with lots of grease and moving around. the shaft on 34 was a little corroded so i took an emery cloth and got most of the rust off. so just by taking off that one part i was able to work the ball joint back onto the shaft and thread #27 back in and tighten everything up and i was back in business.
