When the backhoe is attached to the MF1700 series SCUT, are the 3 point arms removed? Details please. I'm considering buying one and need to know. Thanks.

Either folded up, or removed

They are normally folded up in between the backhoe and the back of the tractor.

Thank you both. Good to know that they do not have to be removed.

Would you both please comment on your experience with your MF 17XX scuts. What do you like, what do you not care for? Are they reliable? Will the 17XX handle a 6 foot boxblade OK (~600 lbs)? Thank you both.

They won't handle a 6' box blade as they don't have the weight to pull it when filled. I run a 4'...I could probably get away with a 5'. I have a 2015 GC1710TLB and haven't had any issues that I didn't make for myself. The seat could be more comfortable but other than that I love my GC. Good luck.

PS. You do have to remove the top link, just not the lower arms when putting on the backhoe

Got it. Thank you. I too thought that a 6' BB would be a bit much for a 1500Lb tractor. Do you have a mid mount mower? If so, how does it perform?

I had a 2014 GC1710 TLB, 54” deck. That performed flawlessly and I sold it last year at about 560 hours. Only issue with that was right before I sold it, the backhoe valve block weeped a bit.

Between the 1710 and the new 1723, they made it better enough to justify a new machine, ergonomics, SSQA, mor capacity, etc.

Now have a 2019 GC1723e, TLB, 60” drive over deck. 135 hours in the last year. Only issue was the fuel gauge always showing full, fixed with a new sending unit.

I use them on our farmette and commercially. On the commercial side, I stay in my lane and don’t take jobs beyond the machines capabilities, which impress me frequently.

The mower decks both did/do cut wonderfully, only place I cut is at home, about 1.75 acres. Takes around 2 hours.

And for a BB, I would stick with a 4’, I use the BB a lot and would not want to fight for traction with a 5’ or 6’.

I just fold my top link down, so it rests in the hole on the hitch.

Sorry for the multiple posts. I keep forgetting stuff. Dislikes, the little storage box on the 1723 is meh, But handy. would rather have the 3 point lever up higher as it sometimes hits my calf.
