node just a single clutch with a built in over run coupler
The first thing I have to do is compliment the New Holland service department guys that I spoke with (Messick's and Corvalis New Holland) about the "recall" of the 1715 for the cotter pin in the bell housing. No such "recall" was made and no "service bulletins" were issued according to their data base that is only accessible to dealers with a "dealer code". Andy with Messick's was very familiar with the "jiggle drain" in the bell housing and he had not heard of anything out of the ordinary in respect to any problems with the design or installation of the cotter pin and he also stated that water could enter the bell housing in many small areas.

they must not have sold many or have not worked on many i have one in my shop right now that my dad sold when in the newholland business that the clutch is rust up and this tractor sleeps inside at the man that owns its house. this is the 3 1715 this month and they all had the jiggle plug in upside down and yes when my father was a new holland dealer they brought just about every one of the tractors in he sold and split them to fix this per the newholland rep.
and did you ask them if the the head of the cotter pin went inside the bellhousing or out side it makes a big difference
Yes I did and the response from both was it did not matter because the cotter pin will jiggle in either orientation. I have to go by what the manufacturer has in there data base and no information is in there data base for this issue. If you are able to provide a document that proves other wise I would like to see it. You may not understand that the data base that Case New Holland has is an international data base and it would hold all of the information that would be from the past and present which would included any "recall" information especially one that would be authorized by a "rep". I believe that the manufacturer has the correct information in this case and I stand by what I have stated and I am not going to change anything on my tractor.
