Hey guys, I got my 1725 4 months ago or so. I got about 30 hours on it and it seems to crank over a lot longer than it used to even in the cold. I got it in February and after a little glow plug cycle it started pretty quickly. Now it takes a lot more cranking than it used to. I’ve tried different glow plug times and it makes no difference. Is there anything I should look for? I asked my dealer and all I got was I can’t think of anything that would cause that. It always starts but if it’s something that might turn into a thing I wanna get on top of it. Thanks!

Is this a new machine? Your 30 hours is all that's on it?

The starter may be spinning more slowly than it was before. Pull the battery, charge it, and have it load tested. Before reinstalling clean battery terminals and cable ends. Reassemble and tighten securely. Follow ground lead to frame. Clean and tighten. Be sure starter mount bolts are tight as well as power cable to starter. With all this done if you still have problems consider taking the starter to a repair shop which can check out the starter.

Yeah it’s a new machine. 30 total hours all by me.

It sounds the same as it did before but I can check the battery with a load test. I can put a jump pack on it too just for a test.

When it does start, does it run as normal / new?

Is it turning over slower or just taking longer to fire?

How much longer is it taking to start?

Any smoke or rough running after / during starting?

Too many variables.....

I didn’t get a chance to play with it today. I’ll try to tomorrow. It does give a good sized black puff every time it starts but from what I’ve seen on videos that’s normal.

Check the glow plugs.. might have 1 burnt out..

I would use volt meter or test light to check if it is getting +12volts to glow plug buss bar first ... Check Fuse block to see if any fuses blown (see owners manual for fuse number) ....Then I would remove buss bar from glow plugs and use OHM meter to test continuity of each glow plug before going to far into this ... If all good then I would dive deeper into maybe issues with starter of battery or cables...

Just remember the KISS principal. "Keep it simple stupid".... go one component at a time, recheck, move on to the next possible culprit.
