Is that cap on the back of the trans also the bearing support? Does the shaft under that cap stick out past the bearing? I have everything to add the pto if there is enough shaft to connect the pto coupling. You may be right about the casting #. I'll go by there tomorrow and brush it off so we can read it. The steering motor shouldn't be a problem. It has a hyd cylinder under the front axle and a hyd steering motor on the bottom of the steering column. It won't matter what position the steering motor sits. I may have to change a couple of lines so it will steer in the right direction. Yes I did get the rims.

Yes, it would be nice to get a 192. I missed one last summer. We had taken a load from my work to our local scrapper. When we got there, they were cutting up an old Vermeer trencher. Had a 192 D with a hole in the side of the block the size of my fist from the grapple on a crane. Scrapyard operator said the man that brought the trencher in drove it off the trailer. I did get the injector pump off that engine for 50 bucks.

I agree. Since the Vermeer, I have bought 2 parts tractors from him.

An 801 gas with a bad 4 speed. Reverse idler is seized up on its shaft, first gear countershaft has a handfull of teeth missing, and all sheet metal is missing. Runs great and lift works. No wheels/tires. $250.00

A 601 gas rear end, 4 speed trans, and seized engine. Lift cover, hyd pump and manifold are still attached. Carb and valve cover are still on engine. $175.00

The scrapper is a really cool guy. After missing the Vermeer, I asked him to call me on any tractors or equipment that came in. He seems to be keeping his word, I have bought a few pieces from him since last May.

yes bearing support. The cap sticks out past the trans wall. You should be able to take the cap off and add your PTO support. I'll look in the barn today and may be get you some photos if that section is not all apart.
update; I checked out in the barn and the trans case is empty. all the gears and parts are in a tub.
I check the parts and this one does have the pto support with race and seal but it's only the support case, no guts,or fork,shifter rail. The cap I was talking about looks like the ones in the bellhousing on the trans wall under the input shaft. It would have a race in it to carry the bearing on the trans shaft.

I went back today to double check the casting # on the block. I think had the # right. Here is a new pic.
Has me kind of curious now.

Oh well, I just hope it runs........

I wouldn't get my hopes up, usually when it ends in an A or J its a 172. K or O would be a 192.

It would be a nice find, but it's not a deal killer. I'm curious to see if it will run. Gonna try to bring it home Thursday. That's as soon as I can get a rollback up there.

I finally got it home yesterday. It looked so broken sitting flat on the ground, I had to do something



So I dug some tires and wheels out of the shed, picked the tractor up and put them on it.



So, new points, distributor cap, coil, plugs, and plug wires and a little gas sprayed into the carb....She Runs!! I didn't run it long, though. The suction line for the front hydraulic pump is broke and the hyd tank is empty. I didn't want to damage the pump by running it dry. So, today, I am pulling the carb for a strip and dip, and going to check out the fuel tank and lines. Also going to repair the broken suction line so I can refill the hyd tank.
