Tractor
B7100HSD w/ B1630C loader
I see Mahindra has 0% for up to 60 mos, financing (ends 04/30/08) on the 1815 tractor. I have been interested in getting a tractor for over a year now. This would be my first tractor. My wife does no believe we need a tractor for our 5 acres  (mostly wooded and brush covered hillside) but with the addition of wood burning heating (EPA certified Fireplace) to my house I will be working on firewood each year. Since it is me who will be doing the firewood, I believe I need a tractor with loader. And maybe a few attachments?

So I am going to use the tractor for firewood (maybe a three point splitter) maintenance of my two gravel drive ways, brush mowing, and misc. landscape projects. Is this a good tractor for what I plan on doing?

Mahindra use to have the MSRP on there website but now it just states to call the dealer. I hate that they can not just tell you what they want for there tractors.

Could you tell me the price for the 1815 tractor and ML102 loader? And how much more is the 2015 HST with loader?

I have already searched the TBN for prices but there not much there.

Asking for prices on here will not really give you an accurate comparison for what units are selling for in your area since there are people on here from all over the US.

Your best bet would be to contact your local dealers for pricing.

Thanks RedRiver.

I did but he passed my email request off to another Mahindra dealer a 100 miles away and I have not heard anything. Of course this is thru email and I know most dealers are not internet savvy yet. Running all over the (PNW) Pacific North West talking to dealers is the equivalent, to me, as a trip to the dentist for a crown.

I heard rumours that my local Mahindra delaer is closing up shop.

I thought if someone out there had bought or been quoted on an 1815 and they could let me know what there experience is.

Chuck,
If you are going to be doing firewood in the woods, I would suggest moving up to the 2015HST or 2415HST, due to the ground clearance. I know customers that use these 2 tractors for this purpose and have had very good luck, and I'm sure the 1815 would be good except for the ground clearance. Also the 2415HST has the 0% for 60 which will probably bring the payments for that down close to payments on a 2015HST at 3.99% for 60 mo.
As Red River said the tractor market varies so much from area to area that you really need to get local dealer quotes. Also MSRP doesn't really tell you much as different companies have different discounts, to their dealers, from list price. Good luck with your shopping.

Can I ask what the difference in ground clearance is? I cna't find that spec listed on the Mihindra web site.

Ok I got a quote. It is 11,295 + tax + Delivery to Bellingham (115 miles)would be about $250

How does that compare to other offer people

Tax in our state varies from 8.3% to 8.9%.

The other dealer I called said the Mahindra sales guy were busy and then said I should buy New Holland because they are cheaper then the Mahindra's. I think he was the NH sales guy looking to snipe a sale from the other guys.

I wlll call the other dealer back today. I know I need to get be fair but I don't really want to. :(

I went out on the lot and took a quick drawbar measurement, 7 1/2" on the 1815 and 11 1/2" on the 2015 = 4" Quite a bit.

If your wife thinks 5 acres is too small for a tractor, tell her I only sit on ONE acre and I just bought a Kioti CK20S HST TLB. :D

A tractor just makes life easier, so it doesn't matter what size lot one has.

BTW, I only have a few trees on my lot, so I really don't have use for a grapple, but that might be my next purchase. Either that or a PHD, which I will need to install a fence. I'd rather have the grapple.

Oh when we... ahh... "discuss" the tractor... Every time she says that it is not that hard to do it by hand, I pick up my daughters and say "I will watch these two, while you show me how easy it is"

The "discussion" always ENDS right there. :p

Well, not impressed with the dealer I called back...He couldn't find his price book, so he said I will email you when I get the price work up... 4 hours, Still waiting.
